Venice, Los Angeles – September 6, 2024: A multi-agency task force conducted a large-scale cleanup at Venice Beach on Friday, involving the Los Angeles Park Rangers, LAPD, Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., LAHSA, and Councilwoman Traci Park’s office.
The operation, led by Park Rangers, focused on clearing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, highlighting the city's commitment to addressing homelessness with a coordinated, compassionate approach. LAHSA provided essential services, such as food, water, and hygiene kits, and no citations for public camping were issued, reflecting a preference for supportive over punitive measures.
The cleanup is part of regular efforts held on Fridays along the Venice Beach Boardwalk, underlining the city's strategy to maintain public safety while addressing homelessness.
